Strange behaviour with drag and drop that seems to cause other problems!
Have a new install of Structure 3.0.4 on EE2.2.2. It seemed to work at the beginning, but, as you can see by the attached screenshot, is misbehaving. I haven't worked with EE for a couple of years and I'm trying to see if I can migrate a large site, so I may be missing something obvious!
I was adding pages when this happened - prior to this all was okay. Then all my structure URLs disappeared along with the ordering. Dragging and dropping didn't work, so I manually re-entered Structure URLs and Parents to recreate the correct order, but still the screenshot!
Not sure I can provide more about what I did - but, as I say, I was only adding pages at the time - no new add-ons, etc!
Any help welcome.
Andy

Didn't notice the screenshot - must've forgotten to attach. Here it is!

This is part of an older bug that can rear its head in edge cases. Run our debug mode: http://buildwithstructure.com/documentation/debug_mode_for_page_data/

Interesting! The debug script worked fine - said I had 17 extraneous
entries. I clicked "Fix it!" and they were duly removed. Now I have only
one entry in Structure. Fortunately it isn't going to take long to
re-populate, but does this happen often? I'll eventually have over 200
pages and couldn't possibly consider repopulating on a regular basis...

It should actually put them back at the top, maybe the data was SUPER screwed. It's supposed to reset your hierarchy for offending entries and usually there's not THAT many that are the issue. It's all clean now though.

Yeah, all seems well. Just going through the Channel entries and adding
the Structure URL that was zapped. We'll see how I get on as I keep
importing content. Thanks for the help!

Hello. I am having this same issue repeatedly. I have 8 channels designated as type "Listing" and for 5 of those 8 channels, each entry's Structure URL gets blanked out every time I reorder pages in the heirarchy using drag and drop. I cannot figure out any rhyme or reason to it, but I did notice that the 5 channels for which I'm having problems have one thing in common--I created them. The other 3, which are not affected by this behavior, were created by the original site developer. I have inspected all of the channel preferences to see if there's some setting that is causing the difference in behavior, but I am at a loss.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the difference may be so that I can correct it?
I ran the "debug" mode and received a message that there are no errors.
I am running Structure v 3.3.4 on EE 2.5.3.
Thanks,
-Michael

You'll need to upgrade to the latest Structure before we debug further.

Ok, well, I figured out something that resolves the issue to my satisfaction. It turns out that the problem affects listings without a defined parent. So by going to the page I want to make the parent and choosing the appropriate Listing Channel, all Structure Listing URLs within that channel are restored and are no longer affected by reordering pages.
Thanks.

Ahh, yes. Listings must be assigned to add pages. Glad you're set!
